In Jimani, Dominican Republic

VIA SMS Carol: At the hospital on Jimani, Dominican Republic. Hundreds of patients, broken bones, burns. Haven't found Dr. Marc. Local docs and a few Red Cross.

  1. Isn't the town's name spelled "Jimaní"? Isn't it only about 40 miles from Port-au-Prince, not 150? Have you encountered the Baptist Hospital Foundation "Jimani Project"'s Dr. Marc Pinard in Jimaní (and Fond Parisien)? Ref. URLs {http://www.jimaniproject.org/} and {http://www.knoxnews.com/news/2005/mar/13/orphaned-doctor-returns-to-his-island-home-to/}; contact: Dr. Clint Doiron in Knoxville, E-mail: {clint.doiron@gmail.com}). Are you being well supported by the PAHO/WHO field office recently set up in Jimaní? (see URL: {http://haiti.ushahidi.com/reports/view/360}). Much success in your good work! - E.
