I received a call this evening from George Sarmiento, a gentleman from the US Consulate in the DR. He told me that due to a congressional hearing today, he would meet with Nadia tomorrow even though the office was closed for the weekend, and accept her application for an emergency medical visa.
Many of us have been working very hard to see this happen, with letters and phone calls and prayer. Sometimes you encounter situations in life that seem as if they have insurmountable odds, but sometimes ... you just have to believe.
